Matthiessen is the second stop of the Illinois Homegrown Race Series
Join us as we host our 5th mountain bike race in the Illinois Valley. Matthiessen State Park is a surprisingly hilly and fast course that will provide a great challenge for racers of all abilities with good areas for spectator viewing all in a cozy state park atmosphere.
Racers will find Matthiessen to be one of the most promising and varied riding areas in the state; fast flowy single-track punctuated with challenging technical sections, and big climbs will truly test a racer's mettle.

Rules and Prizes
1. All Cat 1 racers must have a Cat 1 license. Cat 2 & 3 can purchase a one-day license
2. Open, Cat 2 and Cat 3 racers without a USAC license are eligible for all other prizes and awards.
3. All riders will finish on leader's lap.

FAQ
1) I race comp at WORS and have a Cat 2 license, can I race the “Open”?
a. Yes Cat 2 license holders and non license holders looking for an extra challenge are welcome to race the “Open.” The only catch, you won’t be eligible for series points. The “Open” category is run along with and competing for Cat 1 prizes/awards.
2) Do you have a youth/junior division?
a. Yes, we’ve added a Juniors 10-14 and 15-18 to the Novice/Cat 3 race.
3) Are bar ends allowed?
a. Yes, this rule had been clarified and our officials have been informed of the change.
4) Is this race part of the Illinois Homegrown Race Series?
a. Yes.
5) How are the trails after all of the rain and flooding?
